For the second year in a row, we at O’Gara Coach decided that there is only one real way for us and our clients to travel to Monterey car week. Together. After last years huge success we wanted to bring back the Sunset GT Rally, but this time, take it to the next level.
For this years start we didn’t want to just use some random parking lot, we wanted to provide participants something special. Enter the exclusive Soho House Malibu, also known as the “Little Beach House“. Open only to Soho members, this special location provided the perfect place to not only get our everyone fueled up, but organize the massive 60 car caravan.
This years route differs slightly than the year before. Starting in Malibu we have the ability to get right on the 101 and head north with little issue. To help with traffic and stop lights we once again have a police escort leading the way. After fourty minutes or so of driving, beach views turn to windy mountain roads as we head inland toward Ojai.
This is where the drive comes alive and participants push their exotics though tight turns and blast up strait aways. The small town of Goleta and its gas stations are our destination and the first stop on this incredible rally from Malibu to Monterey.
Once departing our pit stop in Goleta, we got back on the road for leg two of Malibu to Monterey. Set primarily on HWY 101, we cruised into Paso Robles in search of our next destination, Law Estates Wines. The exquisitely modern facility was the perfect destination to relax and enjoy a gourmet lunch. Perched atop a hill overlooking much of the valley, guests had 360 degree views of this sprawling winery and its property.
The third and final leg of the Sunset GT Rally was the drive from Law Estates Wine to The Rimac House in Carmel. The purpose of this final event was to announce and celebrate, O’Gara Coach being named an Official Rimac Partner. This years rally was another huge success and we cant wait for 2019.
