The Lamborghini Countach. Arguably the car most associated with the Lamborghini name. The car we all had on our bedroom wall as kids.  Back then this car looked like the future. It gave us hope that this is what cars would continue to be like for years to come.  However these days we live in a digital age. Everything is touch screen and voice enabled. We’re becoming more connected with each other and less connected with our cars. The sound and feel of cars have changed drastically over the past 40 years. That is how old the Countach has become.  We’re here to bring you something that still looks spectacular even today.  A car you can truly connect with. Before we talk about this particular car, let’s give a little history lesson on the Countach. The Lamborghini Countach is a mid-engined V12 Super Sports Car produced from 1974 to 1990. Its design pioneered and popularized the wedge-shaped sports cars of the 70’s and 80’s. It also popularized the “cab forward” design concept, which pushes the passenger compartment forward to accommodate a larger engine.  The word countach is an exclamation of astonishment in the local dialect that means “perbacco” or “accidenti” (“Heavens!”).  Supposedly the first words said once the prototype was unveiled (seen below).

Pictured above would essentially become the LP400 model, first delivered in 1974. Four years later a new model was introduced, the LP400 S. It included some radical exterior changes that would carry on into future models. These changes included fiberglass wheel arches and wider 345/35R15 Pirelli P7 tires. An optional V-shaped spoiler was available over the rear deck, which, while improving high-speed stability, reduced the top speed by at least 10 mph.

Next would come the LP500 S. A larger, more power engine was introduced. The bodywork however would remain the same. Now we come to the model first pictured. The Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole. Named for the motor receiving 4 valves per cylinder, and another increase in motor size. Only 610 examples we re produced from 1985 to 1988.  The car we currently have is from 1988 and has only 4956 original miles.  As you can see from the pictures below this is a stunning example of a car made iconic by such movies as Cannonball Run, and Television shows like Miami Vice. We are incredibly excited to have this car in our inventory, and display it proudly.  Click Here for our official listing.  UPDATE: This car has since been sold.
