Three seats. The magic number associated with possibly the greatest car ever created. The McLaren F1. Three seats. One in the center for the driver with two seats pushed back flanking either side. It was something that would become synonymous with McLaren and with the F1, but it wouldn’t be seen again for almost 30 years.

When the Speedtail was conceived, they told buyers, it will have three seats. That was all it took for the limited production car to be sold out before a render had even been shown. No one knew what to expect, but they were absolutely blow away when the cover finally came off. It is like nothing else on the road today.

While the seating configuration alone elevates the car to legendary status, it is the rest of the car that sealed it. On this episode of McLaren tech club, you get an inside scoop on what it’s like to drive this modern automotive marvel.
