Apple recently announced their “most ambitious retail project” yet – a floating Apple Store atop Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay.

Structured into a 114-piece glass dome sporting 360-degree views of the surrounding skyline, this new Apple store will be the tech giant’s first ever location to sit directly on the water. The floating-like mega sphere brings a new and captivating shopping experience to the brand in one of the most populated areas on the beautifully reflecting Marina Bay and cityscape.

We couldnt be more excited to open the breathtaking Apple Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, building on our commitment to this special place that began more than 40 years ago,” said Deirdre OBrien, Apples senior vice president of Retail + People. Our passionate and talented team is ready to welcome this community to our new store and deliver the care and support that our customers around the world love.

Arriving as the third retail location in Singapore, the architecturally exciting new space was inspired by the Roman Pantheon, lined with custom baffles to let in the maximum natural light during the day while creating an illuminating interior effect at night. Also taken inspiration from the Asian “Garden City”, vibrant trees follow the perimeter to provide both a feel of nature and shade from the incoming sun rays.

Coinciding with this momentous location in Singapore, the Southeast Asian city-state has had a longtime history with Apple spanning over 40 years with their first corporate office in Ang Mo Ki, as well as producing the majority of printed circuit boards for Apple II computers worldwide back in 1981. The 148-person team at Apple Marina Bay Sands include members speaking over 23 languages along with providing the utmost of health measures for both employees and visitors including mask requirements, temperature checks, and social distancing.

To ensure the health and well-being of guests, visits to Apple Marina Bay Sands will be by appointment only. To learn more, please click here
