Driven by the well accoladed Andy Wallace the Bugatti was in good hands, despite being described as, “Being quite difficult to do” by the driver himself. “Now Bugatti was the first to exceed the 300-mile-per-hour mark. An incredible achievement that shows what the men and women of Bugatti are capable of. But this was the last time for us. Bugatti was the first to exceed 300-mile-per-hour – its name will go down in the history books and it will stay that way forever” added Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti.
The hypercar race war to break the 300mph barrier is over. In a six month collective effort between Bugatti engineers, Dallara and Michelin the Bugatti Chiron has been announced as the first manufacturer vehicle to break the 300-mile-an-hour barrier. The highlights of the menacing Chiron created features a long tail which enhances overall aerodynamics and lowers drag, a boost to 1578 horsepower and upgraded Michelin tires to handle the increased road stress. Measuring 9.84 inches longer than a stock Chiron, stripped out interior and lower ride height for drag purposes the upgraded Chiron was in true race mode to battle the task at Ehra-Lessien test track, Germany.
