Famed Scottish distillery Bowmore has recently announced their long-anticipated collaboration with British sports car brand, Aston Martin. The two luxury powerhouses have combined forces in creating a $65,000 single malt scotch whisky complete with an impressive, engraved bottle of an Aston Martin DB5 piston.

Limited to only 25 bottles, the Black Bowmore DB5 1964 is a celebration of time and passion, encompassing the great innovation from both brands going beyond decades. As the “1964” name proceeds – the year was marked in history for both Aston Martin and Bowmore.

In this year, the distillery first installed its steam boiler ending the traditional use of coal, leading to the creation of the extremely rare, “Regular” Black Bowmore. First bottled on November 5th, 1964, the single malt has only been bottled six times after in over 50 years. That same year, the first film of the wildly popular James Bond franchise debuted in Hollywood – featuring the iconic Aston Martin DB5.

Following one of Bowmore’s most exclusive and sought-after creations, the Black Bowmore DB5 1964 is taking the bottle to the next level with these two icons colliding. Using 240 years of craftmanship, Bowmore whiskey makers incorporated intense flavors: mango, passion fruit, and acacia honey swirl together with a dark taste of coffee and tobacco smoke resulting in a deep, black nectar.

Glasstorm handcrafted the bottle glass taking 7 days to finish to perfection. The stunning presentation of the Black Bowmore DB5 1964 arrives in a handmade box held in place by string-grain calfskin with a solid brass latch and hinge, plated in nickel. Buyers can also purchase a book detailing Bowmore’s history back to 1779.

The Black Bowmore DB5 1964 retails for $65,000 (£50,000) and will go on sale Fall 2020.
